Undivided of the GTA towns located the west of Toronto is Halton Hills that belongs to the Municipality of Halton.

Halton Hills was formed by fusion of several communities, such as the Equesing Township, Acton and Georgetown. It also hosts the Bruce Course and the Niagara Escarpment. Lots of regional areas are protected by several organizations,such as Credit River Management & Total River Conservation Police and the Preservation Halton.

The borough is controlled close a council. It consists of two regional councillors and eight councillors who represent four hamlet’s wards. The mayor of the city is Rick Bonnette.

Halton Hills communities embrace: Glen Williams, Norval, Stewarttown, Georgetown, Acton, Speyside, Wildwood, Ashgrove, Hornby, Mansewood, Scotch Deterrent, Limehouse and Silver Creek.
